Would you really want your family to struggle financially if you were no longer around to look after them?
Thinking about death is not a particularly pleasant thing to do, but the reality is that your loved ones will need support after you have passed on. Insurance experts estimate that people are underinsuring their lives to the tune of around £2.3 trillion. If you have someone that depends on you financially, the chances are that you fall into this category.
Imagine your loved ones struggling to come to terms with your death, as well as being stricken by the financial burden of replacing your salary, paying the mortgage, or bringing up your children alone. Not nice is it? The truth is, if you do have dependents, you should have life insurance in place before worrying about other types of insurance. Even if you work reduced hours or on an ad-hoc basis, if somebody depends on your income, you really should consider life cover TODAY.
Details of the types of cover we provide are given below. Regardless of your own circumstances, there is almost certainly a policy that will fit your life right now, and believe it or not, they are not all totally hinged on the basis of you dying. We are experts in arranging life cover for
contractors & freelancers
Most contractors have an unpredictable work pattern and find it difficult to plan too far in the future. With this being the case, it is essential that you get professional advice when considering life insurance. Below is some information to help put you on the right track to finding the most affordable policy that suits you.
The two main types of life insurance are:
Whole Life Cover
This policy covers you for death at any age. Even though, slightly more expensive than Term Life cover, this kind of policy is often more popular with contractors due to the long term cover provided, and the fact that the insurer will be paying out at some point in time.
Term Life Cover
A less expensive policy that covers you over an agreed period of time. The policy ends without value when the term is over.
The differing plans can be put to a variety of uses, and harbour many benefits, they include;
For A Whole Life Policy
As stated, this plan guarantees that the coverage will not come to an end. If coverage is taken early, premiums need not be expensive either. It is also backed up by an investment plan that helps keep costs down later on. Whilst other plans rarely feature an investment or savings component, this policy does. With the savings to be paid out when the policy is stopped.
For A Family Income Benefit Plan
This plan helps with household bills and education, by way of a set income used over a set term. If the plan is for 25 years, (for example), it is vital to remember that if death occurs at the latter part of the term, monies received will be significantly lower than the amount that will be received if death takes place earlier on within the term.
For Level Term Assurance
This policy,
Covers your life for the time when your children are dependent on you.
Covers an interest only loan, like an ISA mortgage, so that your family are left without any debt.
Makes up for income lost. A lump sum is provided for your family to place on deposit and draw off interest.
For Decreasing Term Assurance
This policy covers a repayment, like a mortgage.
These are just a few pointers of the plans that are available and how they may be put to use for the protection of you and your family. Of course, we can assist in this process by taking you through the options available, based on your individual circumstances.
Thanks for taking the time to read this page. We look forward to working with you.
